Kielder Primary School and Nursery is an inclusive school where we nurture every child to thrive and excel as learners today and leaders tomorrow. We believe that no child should be left behind, and that every child deserves to feel valued, supported and able to succeed.
There are many reasons why a child may be identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEN), including:
experiencing significant difficulties with learning or making less progress than expected
having a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia or dyscalculia
experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties
having difficulties with social communication and interaction
having sensory and/or physical needs
At Kielder Primary School and Nursery, we believe that all children should be fully supported to achieve their best and reach their full potential. We work closely with families and with colleagues from a range of education, health and social care services to ensure that children with SEND receive the support they need to remove barriers to learning and participation.
Our SEND Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Mr Lee Ferris (Headteacher). He can be contacted by email or by calling the school on 01434 250257. If you have a question, concern or complaint relating to SEND, please contact him in the first instance.
